Kewarra Beach

Kewarra Beach, approximately 20 minutes north of Cairns City, is a lovely beach for swimming, playing and walking. There is a great little playground close by to the stinger net (when out) and a few free BBQ’s. There are toilets and good limited parking. The water here is quite protected and the only waves you will see are gentle lapping of the shore.

The trees around the park area allow you to sit in the shade while the little ones play. There is a good view of the beach and play equipment from the BBQ area. Although the trees give lovely shade in the park, there is no shade on the actual beach so be sun safe and/or come and play early or late in the day.

Holloways Beach Markets

Holloways Beach markets are like a step back in time to the local markets I remember as a child. They are held on the foreshore on the 2nd Sunday of the month from 8am-1pm.

Clifton Beach

Clifton Beach is the first beach south of Palm Cove and has a very similar feel, with palm trees and grassy areas next to the sand. There is a lovely shaded playground and BBQ area close to the stinger net. There is ample shade under the trees at the beach and on the grassy areas. The playground and beach can both get quite sunny, however, so be sun smart here!
