Art Babies at KickArts

Art Babies offers children from 18months-2years the opportunity to visit the gallery, create art and enjoy using different materials and ways to make art.

Each session begins with an art activity. The children are then taken into the gallery and encouraged to do 'gallery hands' (ie. hands behind the back) and to use their eyes to look at and explore the KickArts exhibition. After the gallery tour the children return to their tables to create another art piece. The session is finished with a story. I found the activities to be short and variedvenough to hold the attention of small children. They were facilitated by a kind and enthusiastic staff member from KickArts. It was a great way to teach kids early about how to behave in a gallery - it is always nice to have someone else setting the rules and other children to set examples in these cases!

Bookings are essential via email or phone, and all children are to be accompanied by a parent or carer
