home / Things to do with your kids in Cairns / Parks And Playgrounds
A popular meeting spot for young families, "Muddy's" is a modern, fun, safe playground and parkland.
The water features to play in are fantastic, and there is something for all ages. My kids loved the small stream on the southern end from as early as when they could sit on their own. It's a great place to master the art of crawling. As they get more confident, the fish area is also good for the smaller kids. The bigger kids love to run and jump through the water jets and fountains in a separate area.
One of the greatest parts of the playground is the fenced playground area. it is perfect for parents who want to give the kids free rein to run as they please, worry free. This playground is suitable for a kids who can crawl or walk (or run) up to the age of about 5. The music play boxes are great fun. There is also an area great for small tricycle riding!
Another great thing about Muddy's is that there are many diferent areas so when the kids are bored with one area, just move to the next.
There is lots of sand about - so bring the buckets and shouvels if your kids enjoy that kind of play.
Other features of the play areas include:
Flying fox, sound chimes, track ride, rope bridge, slides, play houses, story telling areas, see- saw, trick track and puzzle games
Additionally, "Muddy's" provides BBQ & Picnic facilities (Curlew BBQ is available for private hire), an events lawn to accommodate visiting attractions as well as tired children and an on-site cafe, "Skippers" that provides light meals and refreshments. Muddy's is somewhere locals and visitors can take their children to play and enjoy the benefits of the waterfront.
In the interests of public safety, Security Officers and CCTV cameras are monitoring the area at all times.
Hours of operation are 8am - 8pm during the summer months (October - March) and 9am - 7pm during the winter months (April - September). Muddy's is closed for cleaning on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 7am - 11am
